Lunch and Learn with Attorney Vance Piggott
The Private Attorneys General Act (“PAGA”) has been in place for two decades. It is estimated that employers pay more than a billion dollars per year to resolve PAGA claims. Much of this money is paid for very minor violations of the Labor Code and goes to plaintiffs’ attorneys rather than to aggrieved employees. The California legislature is finally considering reforming PAGA. We will educate you on the problems with PAGA and the importance of reform. We will also discuss recent developments with respect to the California workplace violence prevention plan requirements which go into effect July 1, 2024.
